Fees & Insurance

INVESTMENT

Many of my clients have difficulty doing things for themselves. They may have put off seeking therapy, feeling like it’s too much, or they don’t really need it. They may have no problem spending money on a need of a loved one, but hesitate when it comes to themselves.

I call this page “Investment” because that’s what I see therapy as - an investment in yourself. Your well-being, your health, your future. Investing in one’s own needs is something I work on with many of my clients, as neglecting that for so long is often a big part of the problem.

At first, it may feel selfish, wrong, bad. With time and practice, though, that shifts. Eventually, my clients often find that investing in their own needs helps them to not only feel better, but show up more fully in their lives, for themselves, their loved ones, their commitments.

As the saying goes, we can’t pour from an empty cup. Let this be the first step in making yourself and your needs a priority.

  • My standard fee for all sessions, including our first session, is $185. Each session, including our first, is 55-60 minutes. All clients receive a comprehensive assessment, personalized treatment plan, and an assurance that if I’m not the therapist for you, I’ll provide you with personalized referrals to other providers who may be a better fit.

  • No! The beauty of telehealth is that it allows me to work with clients who are located anywhere in Texas. Due to licensing restrictions, however, you must be physically located in Texas at the time of our calls.

  • I am in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar, and Optum through a company called Headway. I can assist clients with other insurance plans in obtaining out-of-network benefits. I value the accessibility of therapy, and dedicate a portion of my caseload to reduced fee spots. Set up a consultation to learn more.

  • Everyone is different, so it’s hard to answer this. In my experience, most of my clients start to feel some relief within the first 4-6 sessions. Real and true behavior change is a long game, however. It depends on what your goals are, what barriers you have to those goals, and how much time you are willing to invest in your therapeutic journey outside of session.

Free 15-min call

Research shows that finding the right therapist is a big part of what makes therapy work well.

That’s why I offer obligation-free consultation calls so that you can get more clarity before making any decisions. I’d love to talk more to see if we could be a good fit.

Notice to clients and prospective clients:

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
